Town of Irmo Partners with Grindhouse Skate Co. and Iron Mast Creative to Host Inaugural "ShredFest"

Free community event at Irmo Skatepark to feature live music, local food trucks, and a Best Trick competition hosted by professional skater Spencer Barton.

Irmo, SC 10/27/2026 - The Town of Irmo, in partnership with Grindhouse Skate Co and Iron Mast Creative, is excited to announce Irmo ShredFest Vol. 1, a high-energy community event celebrating skateboarding, live local music, and culture. The event will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Irmo Skatepark, located inside Rawls Creek Park (1113 Friarsgate Blvd).

Admission to ShredFest is 100% free for both spectators and contest participants.

Event Highlights Include:

• Special Guest Emcee: Professional skateboarder Spencer Barton will serve as the event's master of ceremonies, bringing expert commentary and high energy to the microphone throughout the afternoon and during the main competition.

• Best Trick Competition: Open to skaters of all skill levels who want to showcase their talent. Registration and entry are completely free.

• Live Local Music: The afternoon will feature performances by a powerhouse lineup of local bands, including AS-33, No Chaser, and Kontajia.

• Open Skate Sessions: Skaters are invited to ride the park’s street plaza and bowl features between musical sets and session alongside local crews.

• Local Food Trucks: A variety of local food vendors will be parked on-site offering food and beverages throughout the afternoon.

"Whether you're entering the competition, cheering on the skaters, listening to the bands, or grabbing lunch from a food truck, there is something for everyone to enjoy," said representatives from the Town of Irmo.
