Cayce, SC – 03/01/2021 (Paul Kirby) – Master Trooper David Jones of the SC Highway Patrol said Sunday afternoon that there has been another fatality on Lexington County roads over the weekend. Jones said that one person died in a single vehicle collision on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at approximately 11:00 a.m.
Jones said that the driver of the vehicle that crashed was travelling north on I-77 near the 1 mile-marker when it ran off the left shoulder of the road and struck a tree. Jones said that the driver, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time, was killed in that collision. No one else was injured as a result of the crash.
The collision remains under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol.
