Two Meadow Glen students win highest scores at United States Figure Skating championships

Lexington, SC 02/22/2022 - Meadow Glen Middle School students and siblings Luciano Chen and Lauren Ji recently received the highest score in the juvenile pairs category of the United States Figure Skating championships.

In November, these champions traveled to Boston for the competition. Due to COVID-19, the setup for the championships was different than in past years. Normally, skaters compete in a regional contest with winners moving to sectionals, and those winners competing in nationals. The setup for 2021, however, changed to six competitions around the country. The winners were chosen by the highest score across the board collectively out of the six contests. Luciano and Lauren’s score for their pair routine remained the highest in their division.
