Two people dead following traffic collision on Neeley Wingard Road near Ben Franklin Road in the Pond Branch / Fairview area Sunday

Pond Branch, SC 05/19/2025 (Paul Kirby) – Two people died in a two-vehicle collision on Neeley Wingard Road at Ben Franklin Road Sunday evening. This is between Fairview Crossroads and Pond Branch Road. According to Seargent Tyler Tidwell of the SC Highway Patrol, this occurred just before 9:00 p.m. on May 18, 2025.

Tidwell said that the collision involved a 2019 Jeep Renegade with just its driver in it and a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu with several occupants travelling in it. According to Sgt. Tidwell, the Jeep was travelling on Ben Franklin Road, and the Chevrolet was driving on Neeley Wingard Road. The vehicles collided at the intersection. The driver of the Jeep was not seriously injured however two occupants of the Malibu died as a result of the collision.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has not yet released the names of the two who died following this crash. Coroner Fisher’s Office and the SCHP are still investigating this collision.
