Unauthorized, false website claiming to be that of the Lexington County Republican Party launched

Lexington, SC 09/05/2023 (Paul Kirby) – Accusations continue to fly and there are now claims of a misleading website that the Lexington County Republican Party’s (LCRP’s) new leadership is calling “cloned” as summer gives way to fall and the fighting between the old and new continues non-stop. Since the leadership team of old was swept out of office in April of 2023 and the new group took charge, infighting has taken hold between a younger group that claim to be more purely conservative leading into 2024, an intensely important General Election year.

According to a statement released by Lexington County Republican Party Chairwoman, Pamela Godwin on Sunday, September 3, 2023, “A new, counterfeit website, cloned from the content and structure of the official Lexington County Republican Party website was launched in mid-August 2023. The counterfeit website appears to be an attempt to control information and messaging related to the Lexington County Republican Party. Godwin continued by saying, “It appears a splinter group of the Lexington County Republican Party (LCRP) may be responsible for launching this unauthorized website.” According to Godwin, the real, official website address for the Lexington County Republican Party remains www.lexingtonrepublicans.com.

In her release, Godwin also sent a list of what she described as accomplishments. They included:

The Lexington County Republican Party has been energetically moving forward of late. This Summer the LCRP:

  • Helped feed/serve First Responders from all over the country who came to celebrate fallen firefighter J. Michael Muller.

  • Fed Lexington County Deputies in Irmo.

  • Activated our team to defeat the Smallwood Project on Lake Murray.

  • Hosted our first annual summer Ice Cream Social.

  • Passed a Medical Freedom and Bodily Autonomy Resolution against forced vaccination which was adopted by the South Carolina State Republican Party.

  • Censured State Senator Katrina Shealy for her opposition to the platform of the Republican Party's pro-life stance.

  • Addressed the Lexington-Richland Five School Board regarding CRT policy.

  • Passed a resolution supporting Paper Ballot voting in our elections.

  • Organized and hosted story hour at the Lexington library, promoting the Pro-God, Pro-America Brave book series, reading a book by Kirk Cameron to the kids.

  • Honored Technology Coordinator, Susan Horton, for her service as an educator at River Bluff High School and for her service to the community.

Following the installation of new Lexington Count Republican Party leadership in April of this year, the new Party Chairwoman, Pamela Godwin, made it clear that “our Party of Real America 1st Republicans were going to be active and bold in Lexington County, and that this list of Summer 2023 accomplishments is just the beginning.”
