Vehicle collision leaves part of the Boiling Springs, Pelion area without power much of the night

Boiling Springs, SC 12/31/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A large number of homes on Windy Wood Road and its surrounding communities were without power for much of the overnight hours Friday after a vehicle collided with a pole and shut much of the local electrical grid down. The SC Department of Public Safety said that the collision was on Windy Wood Road near Fox Trot Trail and Scrub Oak Roads.

One homeowner in the area said that his power went out sometime after 1:00 a.m. and service was not restored until about daybreak. The SC Highway Patrol worked the wreck and personnel from Lexington County’s EMS and the Fire Service responded.

At this point, there is no information available on the condition of the vehicle’s driver or if any passengers were riding at the time of the crash.
