Chapin, SC – 04/14/2021 (Paul Kirby) – We Care, the Christian based social agency and food pantry that helps families in need in the Chapin, Little Mountain, Ballentine, Peak, and other areas around Chapin, has been blessed again by a generous donation this spring. The Cheerful Giver, through the Central Carolina Community Foundation, has committed $30,000 that will be used for dollar-for-dollar matches for all donations anyone makes to We Care during Midlands Gives.
Midlands Gives is a one day on-line giving event that’s held annually. This year, on May 4th, people will be able to go to their website and give to any charity of their choice that’s signed up to participate in the event.
We Care participates each year and always seems to be a favored choice for people who want to help. Their Mission Statement says a great deal about who they are and provides a glimpse into why people give so generously to We Care.
According to their website, We Care is a Christian organization providing hope through food and other life essentials and skills to the needy in the greater Chapin area. They envision a community where clients are provided emergency help, are empowered to become self-sufficient and are integrated into the social fabric of that community. We Care embodies Christian values. As servants, their staff and volunteers will be forgiving, respectful, loving and compassionate. As stewards they operate with integrity, trust and accountability.
For several years, We Care has used a small box truck to rescue and distribute millions of dollars’ worth of food with that little truck! Through mobile food pantries, it has allowed them to double the number of clients they’ve served. It’s a wonderful little truck, but it’s also well used and tired.
The matching money provided by the Cheerful Giver will be used to replace the hard working but worn-out truck.

With the Cheerful Giver match, if you give $100.00, the total amount We Care will received for their replacement truck will be $200.00! This online giving day is an important fundraiser for them every year but this year with $30,000 on the line, it is more important than ever that you do your part!
