WE NEED YOUR OLD BOOKS

Irmo, SC 07/28/2022 - The Irmo Branch Library, 6251 St. Andrews Road, will accept donations of used books and media on Saturday, Aug. 6, from, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donation Days are also planned: Thursday, Aug. 25, from 3-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m. -- Noon Thursday, Sept. 22, 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
PLEASE DO NOT DROP OFF DONATIONS AT THE LIBRARY ANY TIME OTHER THAN THE DESIGNATED DONATION DAYS & TIMES. On Donation Days, books may be dropped off curbside at the side entrance to the library, 6251 St. Andrews Road, where the Friends of the Irmo Branch Library will assist in unloading. Or you may bring books to the Mungo Room.
Donations of books and media supply both the Friends Book Store inside the library and the twice yearly Friends Book Sale. A non-profit, volunteer organization, the Friends support, promote and help fund the Irmo Branch Library.
For more information email the Friends at friends.irmobranchlibrary@gmail.com. The library does not accept VHS tapes, magazines/journals, encyclopedias, old text books, travel books more than 3 years old, Readers Digest condensed books, or moldy, damaged or ripped books.
I really like the idea of giving old books a new life instead of letting them sit unused. Books can hold so many memories, and it’s great to see efforts to collect and share them with people who can appreciate them.
On a completely different note, I’ve also been enjoying Merge Fruit lately It’s a simple browser puzzle where you combine matching fruits to create bigger ones. The rules are easy to pick up, but trying to make better combinations and beat your previous score gets surprisingly addictive. A fun little game for a quick break!
The contrast between the game’s cute aesthetics and its dark undertones amplifies this unease, making Bloodmoney Game both addictive and thought-provoking.
