Lexington, SC 04/01/2024 (Paul Kirby) – The Lexington Police Department’s Patrol Division had a busy holiday weekend. Friday night, an officer pulled over a driver for equipment and license plate violations. After obtaining probable cause or permission to search stopped vehicle, the officer found more than he had expected.

Eventually, officers arrested a driver for Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, Failure to Obey a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Assault & Battery 3rd Degree, Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia, and several citations for vehicle registration, insurance, and equipment violations.  That individual was then transported to the Lexington County Detention Center.

This is one of many arrest Lexington officers make each week as the work proactively to keep the streets and neighborhoods of Lexington safe.
