Lexington, SC 06/26/2023 (Paul Kirby) - South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced Monday that Christopher Alan McCurry, 44, of West Columbia, has been arrested and charged with 4 counts of sexual exploitation of minors. The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators along with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department made the arrest. Investigators with the Attorney General's Office and the U.S. Secret Service, both also members of the state's ICAC Task Force, assisted with the investigation.
Wilson said that investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to McCurry. Investigators state that McCurry possessed files of child sexual abuse material.
McCurry was arrested on June 16, 2023. He is charged with 4 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, third degree, which is a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment on each count.
This case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
Attorney General Wilson stressed all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.
