West Columbia organizes blood drive to be held in early May

West Columbia, SC – 04/26/2021 (Paul Kirby) – West Columbia has organized an American Red Cross Blood Drive to be held in early May. If qualified donors give blood during this event, they will receive a $5.00 Amazon e-gift card via email.

The blood drive will be held at the West Columbia Community Center which is located 754 B Avenue in West Columbia. It is scheduled for Thursday, May 6th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.

All donations are tested for COVID-19 antibodies. Plasma from antibody-positive donations may help in the treatment of current coronavirus patients. If you’ve had a coronavirus vaccination, that’s not a problem; Certainly, you can still give!

If you’d like to give, you can sign up at www.redcrossblood.org. Just use the sponsor code: westcola. Then, on the day you are scheduled to give, you can complete your pre-donation reading and health history questions online at www.redcrossblood.org/rapidpass. It’s really that easy.

Of course, you don’t have to preregister at all. If you decide to give on the date of the Blood Drive, simply walk in and you can go through the entire process with the assistance of the American Red Cross’ staff or volunteers.
