Whataburger set to hold grand opening on South Lake Drive location this Thursday

Lexington, SC 02/04/2025 (Paul Kirby) – Whataburger is set to open its first Lexington location on Thursday, February 6, 2025. The newest location is at 888 South Lake drive in the Town of Lexington, SC.

The store will open at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday and management, including Operating Partner Albert Ochoa, will have a great deal of giveaways and goodies available to celebrate this opening.

On Thursday morning, the first two guests in the new Lexington store’s drive-thru lane, and the first two in line for the dining room, will each receive a FREE Whataburger for a year. The first 100 to arrive and be served will also receive a FREE Honey Butter Biscuit. The next 200 will receive various items of swag with Whataburger branding.

Founded in Texas in 1950, Whataburger is an iconic burger joint that has expanded its reach beyond the Lone Star State. In 2024, Whataburger operated 1,100 restaurants across 16 states, primarily in the Southern United States. Whataburger locations are notable for their large burgers, in comparison with most normal fast-food fare. They offer more limited menus than many larger chains, and their food is generally cooked to order within sight of waiting customers.
