West Columbia, SC 05/16/2023 - Wood Elementary School’s Beta Club members recently presented a check for $1,000 to the Lexington Medical Center Foundation to benefit various health causes. The money came from the club’s Jeans for a Cause fundraiser, in which faculty and staff paid $5 to wear jeans each month on a designated health day. It was the second year that the Lexington Two elementary school’s Beta Club gave a $1,000 donation to the foundation through a fundraiser.
Beta Club officers are Matthew Ruff, president: Julia Williams, vice-president; Lucy Jeffcoat, secretary; Seth Anderson, treasurer; Stephanie Gonzalez Santos, financial secretary; Natalee Singleton and Diana Velasco Moscoso, reporters; and Stephen Colter, Noah Eadie, and Khristopher Gabriel, historians. Teacher sponsors are Larissa Cuffie and Porscha Doyle, and teacher co-sponsors are Tewonda Anderson, Ashleigh Carpenter, Katie Wilkerson, Liz Williams, and JaLynn Zeigler.
