Sharpe’s Hill, SC 11/08/2021 (Paul Kirby) – A young woman was seriously injured in a collision that occurred in the Sharpe’s Hill area of Lexington County early Monday morning. The crash occurred around 4 a.m. near the intersection of Fish Hatchery Road and SC Hwy. 6.

When rescuers arrived, they found the patient had been injured so severely that a decision was made to request a Lifenet helicopter launch. This expedites transport. That helicopter landed at Edmund First Baptist Church where another Lexington County Fire Service team had set up a safe landing area. Soon after, a Lexington County ambulance rendezvoused with it to transfer the injured woman from the ground transport to the helicopter. She was then flown to the local Trauma Center for treatment of what appeared to be a head injury.

Law enforcement reportedly believe that the vehicle overturned and ejected the young woman. Her identity and current condition haven’t been released. The collision is being investigated by the SCHP.
